Bodega Malpaís de Máguez has once again been awarded in a national competition for its wine La Grieta Malvasía Seco with the gold medal. The owner of this small winery located in Haría, in the north of Lanzarote, Ricardo Socas, says that it is a “fresh wine made from the Malvasía grape from the north, which we help with the La Geria grape, from Tinajo, which "They give it the aroma of the northern one, which is fresher, more acidic." “The freshness in this wine is the acidity, its touch of apple that makes it sizzle in the mouth.” That is the line that people demand "that's why in contests we always win something, either silver or gold, because then we are doing it well," says the owner of Malpaís de Máguez, happy with this new recognition.
It was last June 26 when the Aula Española del Vino hosted the fourth edition of this national competition in which wines from small Denominations of Origin participate. The awards ceremony will take place in Madrid in the near future with a tasting in which the best professionals in the wine world at a national level will participate. The contest was under the Technical Direction of Mr. Jesús Flores Téllez, prestigious oenologist and sommelier, National Gastronomy Award winner; founder and Director of the Spanish Wine Classroom and tasting teacher of the Sommelier Course of the Madrid Chamber of Commerce. Only the Grieta Blanco Seco Malvasía Volcánica has accumulated more than 14 silver and gold WhatsApp Number List awards in its short life, obtained in international competitions such as Cinve Terravinos, Premios Mezquita, Bacchus, etc. Malpaís de Máguez has three types of wine: dry white, barrel-aged red and its already famous Tinto Submarino.
